Wayne NJ Resident Arrested & Charged with Burglary in Haledon NJ
It appears that the Passaic County Sheriff’s Officers were called to the Passaic County Technical Institute to investigate a suspicious person. According to Passaic County Sheriff’s Officer, Atli Sela, when he entered the building he noticed the Defendant, a twenty-four year old Wayne resident, loading a large quantity of copper pipping and copper plates into his vehicle. Upon a further investigation, the officer discovered that the copper pipping had in fact been stolen from an abandoned fenced in property that is owned by the county.
The Defendant was arrested and charged with burglary in the third degree and theft of moveable property, also in the third degree. If convicted of both charges, the Defendant could be sentenced up to ten (10) years in a New Jersey State Prison and fine up to $30,000.
